Snow chains or front-fitted chains?
More and more luxury cars with larger rim sizes (from 17 inches) have no or insufficient clearance to use conventional snow chains. Due to the limited space in the wheel arch, these cars require front-fitted chains. You will find this restriction in the manual of your car.

- The deposit for renting snow chains is €100. The total deposit for a rental transaction is a maximum of €100.
The minimum rental period is 8 days.
Passenger cars
On smaller passenger cars, such as hatchbacks, sedans and estates, chains of lighter quality are permitted. These have a thinner link.Weissenfels snow chains

Front or rear wheels?
Snow chains are mounted on the driven wheels. These are usually the front wheels. BMW and Mercedes often have rear-wheel drive.
Winter, summer or all-season
A winter tyre can be recognised by the sipes in the tread. The winter tyre is also internationally indicated by the Alpine symbol (mountain with snowflake). Often the marking M+S is also present, which stands for Mud and Snow.
XXL Snow Chains
We also rent snow chains for extra-large SUV and 4x4 tire sizes. These chains are more expensive due to the additional material and therefore have an adjusted rate. See the list of covered tire sizes here.
Rinse After Use
Rinse the chains after use with lukewarm water. Let them dry completely before storing them in the packaging.
Wheel Well Space
Always check how much space is available in the wheel wells. Make sure there is enough room for the snow chains to prevent damage. This information can be found in your car’s instruction manual.
Tire Size
The tire size is indicated on your tires. It is in the format width in mm / height in % of the width R and radial or rim diameter in inches.
